'On this, the shortest day of year, the President of South Africa, Jacob
Zuma, is scheduled to visit our Hout Bay communities of Hangberg and Imizamo Yethu.
There is so much we need here. Houses. Work. We need security for our kids. We need community services. We need funding at Jikeleza to keep the children and young people safe and off the streets.
And we need the authorities to show that they do, really, care for us here in Hangberg and Imizamo Yethu.
I am so proud to be a part of Jikeleza and to be a part of this project that has empowered and turned around young peoples lives in such very hard circumstances.
Our fund raising work continues. So far donors large and small have given an amazing R50,180.
We hope that the tide is turning and that as South Africa turns to face the light our fortunes will change.
Thank you, my friends. I am so very proud of our
achievements together.
Viva Jikeleza. Viva.
