Big snow, dark clouds, brilliant sea

The big snow fell on the 20th January. The 21st dawned calm and cold, with angry dark clouds massing over the Dover Strait.  Brent Geese called into the Bay. Gannets dove furiously for sprats. Sun shafts broke through. The snow etched in the detail of the cliffs and provided sharp lines and light.
